VATMAN services provide two great propositions for kitchens. We reduce kitchen

Kitchens struggle to get the job done with their own staff. They do not have

On your start date one of our trainers will arrive. They will take you to meet
any national catering kitchens that are in your territory. After a
demonstration the kitchen manager usually agrees to start using the service
immediately.
The trainer will go with you on each sales call and show you how we sell the
VATMAN services.
The trainer will show you how to use the equipment on site, how to maintain it
and give your assistance based on their experience of servicing VATMAN
customers.
WHAT MARKETING SUPPORT DO I RECEIVE?
Marketing support comes in three forms. Firstly, we have full time sales staff
selling the VATMAN services to national catering companies that have hundreds
of kitchen facilities. As we secure new agreements, any kitchen in your
territory is yours to visit, demonstrate to and agree on the service dates. So
we do the selling, you concentrate on servicing.
Secondly, before you start we will identify local, larger kitchens in your
territory. We will send marketing materials to them and then we phone them. Our
objective is to get you appointments to sell the service. Do not worry if you
never sold before, we show you how in your training and it’s an easy sell. This
is a service kitchens want. That is why we service thousands of kitchens each
week.
Thirdly, once you are up and running we can help with more telephone sales work.
You also have access to all the promotional material needed. And once you are
filtering more than 60 fryers and canopies a week, you will be thinking
about putting on a second van. And do not forget that your van is a rolling
advertisement, supported by a Website and our 1300 VATMAN phone number.
HOW DO NATIONAL CATERERS AGREEMENTS WORK?
National agreements are bid for and won by VATMAN International. You are
required to service the locations within your territory. You are paid through
VATMAN. In other words, we collect the monies on your behalf and pay you
typically within three business days of receiving the funds from the caterer.
HOW DO NEW CUSTOMERS FIND ME?
New customers come through our marketing campaigns, our sales to national
caterers, through web site inquiries and referrals. The quickest way to build
you local customers is simply to phone your local kitchens and make an
appointment to demonstrate the service.
As part of your franchise fee you are supplied with promotional material
including drop in cards, stickers, van decals, flyers and of course you
have the help of our national support team. Your initial customers should come
from the marketing effort we put into your territory before you start.
WHAT DAY-TO-DAY SUPPORT DO I RECEIVE?
We have our support team based in Victoria available to help you in all issues,
day-to-day operations, marketing, accounts, product supplies and sales advise.
WHAT FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
Your VATMAN franchise fee covers most of what you need. You will need your own
van, and if you do not have one, we have national fleet pricing and finance for
Toyota vans. You will need space to store one or two pallets of oil.
You will also need a PC and internet access for invoice production and keeping
up to date with VATMAN.
CAN I TALK WITH OTHER FRANCHISEES?
Absolutely. Before purchase, potential franchisees often spend a few days with
an existing franchisee. Once on-board you will also have access to our
community bulletin board which encourages discussion of any ideas among all
franchisees.
DOES VATMAN SUPPLY COOKING OILS?
VATMAN supplies premium cooking oils. Because we import directly from the
manufacturer we have cut out the middleman and thus you get top products with
great margins at a very competitive retail price.
CAN ANOTHER FRANCHISEE SERVICE KITCHENS IN MY
TERRITORY?
No, your territories are exclusive.
WHAT CAN I CHARGE?
You charge your local customers the price you and they agree. National caterers
have agreed prices for the services which you must use, however services
not covered by the national agreement can be supplied at prices you agree with
the local kitchen
WHAT IS A TYPICAL SERVICE AND HOW LONG DOES
IT TAKE?
A typical service is involves cleaning two or more fryers. You should be in and
out within 40 minutes.
Every second or third service you will often change the oil, selling two or
three drums of oil (for two fryers). You should also take the old oil away
and receive a further service fee for disposal of the old oil, using the
standard VATMAN service.
Additionally you may be cleaning the canopies, which catch the fumes from the
fryers. These all differ in size so the fees vary and you should
expect each to take 45 minutes to maybe a couple of hours work.
Further, you have additional products to sell into each kitchen.
HOW MANY CUSTOMERS I NEED TO SERVICE?
This depends on how many services you perform and how busy the kitchens
are. VATMEN who supply oil filtration, canopy cleaning, replacement oils and
oil recycling will not need many customers to be very busy and netting a
healthy income and return on their investment with one van. VATMEN should
be looking to add vans and staff to build a very substantial business.
DO I NEED TO HAVE ANY QUALIFICATIONS OR
EXPERIENCE?
No. We train you. You need to be prepared to handle used oil, be fastidious and
prepared to follow strict guidelines in performing the services. You also need
to be able to fit in with kitchen hours. VATMEN normally clean fryers when
kitchen staff are not working.
